Phonics

At East Bierley Primary, we provide our students with a diverse range of high-quality texts, encompassing contemporary, classic, and culturally rich books. We follow the Essential Letters and Sounds phonics and early reading program, which is grounded in the latest research on how children learn best, retain knowledge, and develop the skills needed to become highly proficient readers. We encourage all children to read regularly, nurturing a lifelong love of reading, and ensure every child receives the support they need to become fluent, confident, and curious readers.
